          Antique york monarch cornet

          Picture
          ---SOLD --

This cornet is a player.  Significant restoration work was completed by Rich Ita several years ago.  Finish is satin silver in parts.  Several well-done patches.

Cornet plays in Bb or A.  Original case and possibly original mouthpiece included.

This is the ideal horn if you are looking for an antique cornet that you can play today.

          Serial 19xxx

          1958 Selmer Bundy

          ----  SOLD -----

This horn has been around.  But it plays as good as ever.  Valves are fast (I dare say these valves are as fast as a getzen), compression is great.  A great backup or student horn.  I removed all signs of corrosion and stripped much of the original lacquer, so the horn is mostly, but not all, raw brass.  This is the kind of horn that plays better than you expect it to.

This is a Blessing Standard "stencil" horn made in the 50s. Refinished to raw brass. It plays really well! Has a nice open blow.

Jerome Callet New York Flugelhorn (early to mid 80s)

          Picture
          --- SOLD ---

          Serial number F48XX

Absolutely no dings or dents.  Lacquer also in very good condition. Probably 95% or better.  Ready to go.
Low leadpipe entry point and hrz. first and third valve slides means it grips like a trumpet.

          Benge 3x - Los Angeles

          Picture
          Serial number 30839 (c. 1979)

          ML Bore (0.460")

A good playing pro horn.  Noticable dent on bell, otherwise great shape.
Includes Bach 10 1/2 C and Benge 7C mouthpieces.  Includes case

          Mount Vernon Bach

          Picture
          Serial number 25030 (c. 1964)

Large Bore.  Leadpipe and bell not printed with model, presumably standard.

Overall in good condition.  Plays great.  Horn exhibits signs of dent removal on bell, leadpipe as it enters third valve.  Silver plate wear on first, second valve case, first and third valve slides.  Brace nearest to bell flare appears to not be original.  Valves have very recent felt replacement (replaced with synthetics).

          King Silver Flair (UMI)

          Picture
Serial number 41-394277 (manufactured 1991, UMI period)

          ML Bore (0.462")

Horn plays great.  Dark, rich sound.  First valve trigger, third slide tuning stop.  This is an intermediate/professional horn. Small pings on leadpipe.
          Includes case and gold-plated bach 1 1/2 C mouthpiece

          Yamaha YCR 731 Cornet

          Picture
          • This was the pro-level cornet from yamaha from '69 - '79.
          • Note the attention to detail such as the silver plating on the first inch of the tuning slide.
          • Cosmetic condition is 8/10.  Horn shows minor dents that do not effect the silver plating
          • Playing condition is 10/10.  Valves are silky smooth, slides move freely and easily.
          • 0.445 bore.  This is a medium bore, smallish by today's standards.  Smaller bores have more resistance with tighter note slotting.
          • Includes pro-tec case and yamaha mouthpiece

          Acme Master Cornet

          Picture
          • Acme was a stencil name used for York Instruments.
          • This horn is, in construction, nearly identical to the York Feathertouch Cornet.  Valves have patented feathertouch spring design.
          • Refinshed to raw brass with original nickel accents.
          • Note the rose brass bell
          • Cosmetic condition is 7/10.  Horn has several dents.  Nickel plating flakey in places.
          • Playing condition is 5/10.  Valves don't stick but are sluggish.  Slides work but are slow.
          • Horn was heavily corroded upon receipt.  Chemical bath helped quite a bit, signs of surface red rot removed, but this horn will require some regular maintenance to keep that at bay
